Korea Coffee Rankings
A tasting tour through the Korean coffee scene
I've been enjoying the diverse coffee options in Korea, and it's great to see how much the scene has evolved since 2018. There's a fantastic variety of flavors now, moving beyond just rebranded American products. Here's my current ranking of some of the options I've tried:
Coffee Rankings
| Product | Grade | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Origin Toffee Nut Latte | A+ | Rich, perfectly balanced flavors. The standout of the bunch. |
| Maeil — Barista Rules Madagascar Vanilla Bean Latte | A− | Quite decent. Vanilla shines here, though it doesn't quite match the Toffee Nut. |
| Maxim T.O.P. Sweet Americano | B+ | Clean, simple taste with pleasant sweetness. Unique watery-yet-syrupy texture — never overly sweet. |
| Vending Machine Coffee — Cantana Latte | B− | Just ₩1,000 — acceptable for a quick fix. Would buy again when needed. |
| Twosome Latte | C | Too heavy on the milk taste. Didn't quite hit the mark. |
| HBAF Almond Snacks | — | Not a coffee, but worth a mention. Pizza garlic flavor was a nice, interesting twist. |
Detailed Reviews
This has been the standout for me so far. The flavors are rich and perfectly balanced, making it a delightful treat.
Unfortunately, this one was too heavy on the milk taste for my liking. It didn't quite hit the mark compared to others.
I tried the HBAF brand snacks, and they were pretty good! The pizza garlic flavor was particularly interesting and added a nice twist.

A convenient option for just 1,000 Won! While not the best, it's acceptable for a quick caffeine fix, and I'd buy it again when needed.
This offers a clean, simple taste with a pleasant sweetness. It has a unique watery yet slightly syrupy texture that feels just right—never overly sweet.
This latte is quite decent! I've found that I really enjoy vanilla as a flavor, although it doesn't quite match the excellence of the Origin Toffee Nut.
