The Trip

Overview

I recently had four days off and decided to take a road trip to Houston. During my stay, I dined at Bori K-BBQ and spent the night at the Woodland Resort. Overall, it was a pleasant and chill experience.

The best part of the trip was simply doing nothing and relaxing. I took it slow and soaked in the atmosphere, which made for a refreshing break. Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone with me and missed out on taking more pictures.

Venue Verdict
Bori K-BBQ Amazing!
Hilton Woodland Resort Phenomenal
Sushi Masa Meh, Okay

Bori K-BBQ Amazing!

Bori K-BBQ was the highlight of the trip. This upscale restaurant offered some of the best food I've had in a while, making it an unforgettable dining experience. I visited during lunch, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced.

I forgot to snap a pic of the Kalbi, which was one of the most flavorful dishes, but the beef tartare was also outstanding.

Hilton Woodland Resort Phenomenal

The Hilton Woodland Resort was a phenomenal choice for my trip. While I found the breakfast buffet at Harrison to be just okay, the convenience of its location made it acceptable. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to experience the bar, so my beer enjoyment was limited during this trip.

The resort's facilities are impressive, with amazing pools and a prime location that makes it an ideal getaway. It wasn't too crowded, which added to the relaxing atmosphere — perfect for a weekend retreat.

Sushi Masa Mediocre

My visit to Sushi Masa was somewhat underwhelming. While it offers an All You Can Eat (AYCE) format, the requirement to order in advance was a drawback — I prefer a buffet style, as it's difficult to gauge what a dish will be like without seeing it first.

Keeping choices simple with Nigiri and Sashimi seemed to yield the best results. The heavily fusion items were too laden with sauce, which detracted from their flavor. The Udon was disappointing, and the Tuna Maguro had a mushy texture. The only dish that truly justified the price was the salmon.

If you go: stick to Nigiri, Sashimi, and salmon. Skip the fusion rolls and the Udon.

Houston in four days — Bori K-BBQ alone made it worth the drive.

My ZX-100 has lasted over 2½ years, enduring countless tosses into my backpack and car without any issues. However, the lower-end ZX-100 and ZX-110 models have a significant downside: poor-quality earpads.   The Earpad Problem Over time, the earpads on the ZX-100 and ZX-110 disintegrate, leaving vinyl flakes that stick to your hair and ears. The ZX-310 comes with upgraded earpads that don't suffer from this problem — a clear win in the build department. Tip: If your earpads start to flake, it is a sign of material degradation; consider replacing the cushions or upgrading to a model with more durable synthetic lea...

While features are always a plus, my main priority is size. Here's how some of the models I've tried stack up. 5600 Series For overall size, the 5600 series stands out as a favorite due to its compact, comfortable form. It's slim, lightweight, and fits well on my wrist without being too bulky. Although the 6900 series provides the benefit of a well-placed front illumination button, the 5600 remains the ideal size for everyday wear.   Section II Best Compromise: G900...
