The Core Carry
Lately, I’ve simplified my Pocket Everyday Carry (EDC) and generally carry seven core items with an additional four optional items.
- →iPhone 11 — The primary digital interface and communication device.
- →Wallet — Essential storage for cards and currency.
- →Keys — Everyday access essentials.
- →Wristwatch — For timekeeping without relying on a screen.
- →USB thumb drive — Kept on the keychain for quick data transfers.
- →Swiss Army Knife — Multi-tool functionality kept on the keychain.
- →Bandaids — Stored in the wallet for minor emergencies.
Optional Essentials
More often than not, I include only the optional AirPods with my core EDC. The rest I find more convenient to leave in my messenger bag or backpack that I have near me.
| Item | Status | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| AirPods Pro | Optional | Audio and connectivity |
| Pen | Optional | Writing and notes |
| LED flashlight | Optional | Visibility in low light |
| BIC Lighter | Optional | Utility fire source |
Tip: Keep your secondary gear in a dedicated messenger bag or backpack to keep your pockets light while ensuring your tools remain close by when needed.
