As 2021 came to a close, I planned my acquisitions for 2022, focusing on various collections and budgeting around $800. Overall, I spent a bit more than expected, but each acquisition feels worthwhile.

Philosophy

Wardrobe Refresh

2022 is a refresh year for my wardrobe. I've standardized on Uniqlo Supima Cotton T-Shirts. Despite being pricier than Hanes, Uniqlo's Supima lasts significantly longer, and after testing both brands, I've found Uniqlo maintains its quality over time, making it a better investment.

I adjusted my plan slightly with these new additions. Simplifying my shirt and sweater palette to white makes mix-and-match easier.

After a patient search, I added a Green Chore Over Shirt Jacket for $40 and a collegiate green Adidas Track Jacket for my collection. I also expanded my knife collection with a mint green Alox Classic for $38 and a Victorinox Explorer for $20.

I added a Timex Mk1 Mechanical for $80. It's a great alternative to my Casio watches, especially when I feel overdressed with the Omega or cautious with my vintage Zenith.

Year-End Close

Closing out the year, I purchased an Air Jordan 1 Low and a wireless keyboard set for $25, bringing my total to $1,245. I acquired three watches this year but decided to keep only the Apple Watch SE2 after selling the Timex and Omega.

Budgeted $800, spent $1,245 across 5 categories — every acquisition felt worthwhile.
