Vuori Stratos - T-Shirts

Gear Review — EDC Vuori Stratos Tech T-Shirt - An Elevated Everyday Staple *Finding one shirt to do it all, from the trail to the coffee shop.* Price: $40 Fabric: 96% Recycled Poly Usage: ~18 Months Wardrobe Impact: -3 Shirts Section I The Quest for a Good T-Shirt My wardrobe has long suffered from the "right shirt for the right occasion" problem.   I wanted one t-shirt that could genuinely handle it all, reducing clutter and decision fatigue. After hearing consistent praise, I decided to invest in a few Vuori Stratos Tech T-shirts. The idea was simple: if they lived up to the hype, they could finally provide what I was seeking in a basic T-Shirt. First Impressions & Design From the moment I first put one on, the Stratos felt different. The fabric is incredibly soft, almost silk-like, belying its synthetic composition. It drapes well, offering an athletic fit that isn't restrictive. Vuori calls it their "Vuori BlissBlend™" fabric, which is 96% recycled po...

The Bread Club - Dallas

Food & Drink — Reflection The Bread Club - Dallas — Intentional Bites and Community Flour *Finding connection and craft in a bi-monthly ritual.* Bi-monthly Pickups $7 Baguette Section I The Appeal of Artisan Flour I've been wanting a good baguette and pastries since enjoying Arsicault's in San Francisco.  While The Bread Club is not in the same league, it has decent offerings and is a fun place to relax for a bit in Downtown Dallas. The New Business Shine It appears to be a relatively new bakery so everything is sparkling new, well staffed and quality of food and drinks quite good.  Typically, after a year or so we can evaluate if a business will endure as some start to decline when cost cutting starts. The real luxury isn't convenience; it's the quality of the ingredients and the time invested in creation and enjoyment. The Simple Trade-Off Of course, there are trade-offs. The bread is not cheap at around ~$7 a loaf, significantly more than a supermarket alterna...

Zodiac Super Seawolf ZO9305 - $1000 automatic watch for $125

Watch Log Zodiac Super Seawolf: Price, Perception, and True Value Retail Price ~$1000 Acquired Price $125 Movement STP 1-11 Table of Contents ① An Unexpected Acquisition ② Quality and Compromise: The STP 1-11 Movement ③ Comparison to my old Quartz Zodiac Sea Dragon ZO2219 Section I An Unexpected Acquisition A recent gift brought a new watch into my collection: a Zodiac Super Seawolf ZO9305. My initial thought was muted—just another dive watch. But the story behind its acquisition quickly piqued my interest. Zodiac, now under Fossil, is liquidating. This particular model, which typically retailed for over a thousand dollars, was bought for a mere $125. That stark price difference immediately commanded my attention, hinting at a broader discussion about value and perception within the watch world. It also in many ways brought me back full circle to my old Quartz Zodiac Sea Dragon ZO2219 that was in a lime green color way and I sometimes regret selling, this newer and upgraded ...

Home Bar Experiment - Reclaiming the Cocktail Experience

Food & Drink — Cocktails Home Bar Experiment - Reclaiming the Cocktail Experience *Trading overpriced bar drinks for intentional, classic mixes at home.* $20-30 Bar Drink 4 Core Classics $3 Ingredients Table of Contents ① The Bar Tab Reality Check ② Building the Home Cocktail Toolkit ③ Summer Frozen: Daiquiris and Margaritas Section I The Bar Tab Reality Check For a while now, I’ve been increasingly dissatisfied with the cocktail experience at local bars. The quality often feels inconsistent, and the price point has climbed to a ridiculous level. With tip, a single drink can easily set me back ~$20-30 . That kind of spend for an often-mediocre drink doesn't align with my philosophy of intentional living. The cost-benefit just isn't there anymore. This realization prompted a shift. Instead of complaining, I'm making a conscious effort to bring the cocktail experience home. It’s about more than saving money; it’s about understanding what goes into a good drink, contro...

2026 - Summer Road Trip - California - 13 Days (Last US Vacation...value just isnt there anymore)

Travel Journal 1st Epic California Coast Road Trip San Diego → Los Angeles → San Francisco 13 Days ~1,800 Miles 12 Nights 4 Cities 1 National Park I flew into San Diego and embarked on a California road trip — really taking time to enjoy things. 13 days, a full loop from San Diego to LA and San Francisco, with stops in Yosemite, Napa Valley, Monterey, and the Pacific Coast Highway. While I had been to California countless times, I never really attempted to take in the famous landmarks at a more leisurely pace — it was always a quick 5-minute snapshot and, in hindsight, not an efficient way to truly appreciate things. But looking back, this itinerary was too ambitious. Seven days would have been the right call. The second half of the trip was disappointing, and it reinforced something I'd been suspecting for a while: the value proposition for US travel simply isn't there anymore. You get a significantly better deal flying internationally —...
