III Forks
The Best Steakhouse in DFW
The Verdict
Dethroning Del Frisco's
III Forks has officially topped Del Frisco's as my favorite steakhouse in DFW. That's not a ranking I change lightly — Del Frisco's has been a reliable benchmark for a long time — but after a meal at III Forks, the decision wasn't even close. From the moment we sat down to the last bite of dessert, everything about the experience felt a level above.
The Main Event
The Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye
I ordered the cowboy bone-in ribeye, and it was incredible — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of deep, rich flavor. But more than just being a great steak, that meal genuinely changed the way I think about ordering at steakhouses. Before III Forks, I'd rotate through different cuts depending on my mood. Since that night, I've ordered the bone-in ribeye everywhere I've gone — and I haven't looked back.
There's something about cooking with the bone in that concentrates the flavor in a way a boneless cut just can't match. The marbling stays intact, the crust develops beautifully, and every bite has that extra depth you don't realize you're missing until you've had it done right. III Forks is where I really discovered that — and it's been my standard ever since.
The Sides
Probably the Best Side Dishes I've Had
At most steakhouses, the sides are an afterthought — something to fill the plate while you wait for the main event. Not at III Forks. The corn and mashed potatoes are an absolute must, and the asparagus and tomatoes were excellent too. Each dish tasted carefully prepared rather than just competently executed, which is a rarer thing than it should be.
Honestly, the sides alone are reason enough to go back. They elevated the whole meal and made what could have been a great-steak-average-everything-else experience into something that felt genuinely complete from start to finish.
Standout Dishes
- → Cowboy bone-in ribeye — the cut that reset my entire steakhouse ordering strategy
- → Corn & mashed potatoes — must-orders, among the best versions of either I've had at a steakhouse
- → Asparagus & tomatoes — excellent; the kind of sides that earn their spot on the table
Going Back
A Phenomenal Experience Worth Repeating
I'm already planning the return visit. III Forks is a real treat from start to finish — the kind of dinner that leaves you thinking about it for days afterward and recalibrates your expectations for every steakhouse that follows. For anyone in DFW looking for the best of the best, this is the place.
