I recently picked up a Samsung A15 5G, and I must say, it's a decent budget phone. It offers comparable features to my older A32 5G, but with notable improvements, including a better 90Hz OLED screen, a robust 5,000 mAh battery, and 128GB of memory. One of the best aspects is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming rare in modern smartphones.

First Look

Initial Impressions

The screen quality is impressive; the resolution beats the A32 hands down and is even marginally better than my iPhone 14 Pro. However, I've noticed some performance issues after the phone goes into sleep mode. While the user interface (UI) and apps are generally functional, problems arise when apps are allowed to sleep. That said, I primarily got it to watch streaming shows, and in that capacity, it excels.

Overall, it feels like a budget phone but is nicely designed to mimic some aspects of higher-end models like the iPhone 15 Pro Max—though, of course, the performance isn't quite on that level.

Verdict

Usability

This device is excellent for streaming videos and single applications. However, when it comes to heavier apps or multitasking, it falls short. It's almost like a phablet, making it a solid choice for travel.

Update — May 2024

I've since sold the A15 and returned to using the older A32. While the A15 features a better-quality OLED screen, I realized I didn't need a newer device, and the A32 continues to meet my video streaming needs effectively.

Sony MDR-ZX100 vs ZX-110 vs ZX-310 Series Headphones

Gear Review Budget Audio Face-off: Sony ZX Series Review Comparing the ZX-100, ZX-110, and ZX-310 for your everyday carry ~3 Models ~$10–$20 Price 2.5+ Years Longevity Table of Contents ① Build Quality ② Cost Comparison ③ Sound Quality ④ Overall Value ⑤ Upgrade Path Section I Build Quality The Sony ZX series headphones primarily feature a durable plastic construction. My ZX-100 has lasted over 2½ years, enduring countless tosses into my backpack and car without any issues. However, the lower-end ZX-100 and ZX-110 models have a significant downside: poor-quality earpads.   The Earpad Problem Over time, the earpads on the ZX-100 and ZX-110 disintegrate, leaving vinyl flakes that stick to your hair and ears. The ZX-310 comes with upgraded earpads that don't suffer from this problem — a clear win in the build department. Tip: If your earpads start to flake, it is a sign of material degradation; consider replacing the cushions or upgrading to a model with more durable synthetic lea...

While features are always a plus, my main priority is size. Here's how some of the models I've tried stack up. 5600 Series For overall size, the 5600 series stands out as a favorite due to its compact, comfortable form. It's slim, lightweight, and fits well on my wrist without being too bulky. Although the 6900 series provides the benefit of a well-placed front illumination button, the 5600 remains the ideal size for everyday wear.   Section II Best Compromise: G900...
