Vintage vs. Modern
I’ve found that vintage IKEA pieces, particularly those crafted from solid wood, possess a durability and charm often missing from contemporary flat-pack furniture.
Chronology of the Hunt
Tracking the evolution of my living space through various finds and occasional decluttering.
| Period | Milestone | Key Result |
|---|---|---|
| May 2023 | Hemnes Nightstand | Found a 90s piece with a superior design. |
| June 2023 | Lighting & Books | Scored 6 lamps and a brand-new Billy. |
| Aug 2023 | Tarva Queen Bed | Project piece for only $40. |
| Dec 2023 | Bankesta Tables | Vintage 1999 quality for $12.50 each. |
| Dec 2024 | Decluttering | Sold pieces for $180; reinvested in Rast/Nordkisa. |

Future Focus
I am currently seeking a few final pieces to round out the collection:
- →Lisabo Table with 4 Chairs
- →Lisabo Coffee Table
Latest Additions
March 2025: The Rodflik Lamp The industrial enamel metal finish on this lamp exceeded my expectations. It adds a sleek, vibrant pop of color to the room and feels significantly more premium than the price tag suggests.
Custom Projects I recently repurposed a spare Bankesta coffee table into a custom desk, which fits perfectly into my workflow. Additionally, I’ve acquired a vintage Norden bench, further cementing my preference for the solid wood craftsmanship found in legacy IKEA items.
