Upgrading to the iPhone 11: A Comprehensive Review
*Moving from the 6s to the 11 was more than just a spec bump—it was a transformative shift.*
Device Comparison
I recently made the jump from my iPhone 6s to the iPhone 11, and I couldn't be happier with the upgrade. I got a special deal and switched over to T-Mobile, which has significantly improved my signal in areas where Verizon struggled, such as Las Vegas and parts of my hometown.
| Specification | iPhone 11 | iPhone 6s |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | 6.1” (828 × 1792) | 4.7” (750 × 1334) |
| Processor | A13 Bionic (7 nm) | A9 (14 nm) |
| RAM | 4 GB | 2 GB |
| Storage | 64 GB | 32 GB |
| Battery | 3110 mAh | 1715 mAh |
| Camera | 12 MP / 12 MP | 12 MP |
| Weight | 6.84 oz | 5.04 oz |
| Port | Lightning | Lightning |
Transitioning from the 4.7-inch display of the 6s to the 6.1-inch screen of the 11 is like night and day. The heft of the iPhone 11 at 7 oz makes it feel quite substantial, almost like holding a half-pound rock. While it’s bulkier, the larger screen is fantastic for media consumption.
- →Battery Life — The iPhone 11 wins hands down. I can get through 13–16 hours of normal use with 55–60% battery remaining, whereas the 6s required a charge by the 8-hour mark.
- →Processing Power — The A13 chip feels noticeably snappier than the A9. Lag in apps like Safari is a thing of the past.
- →Storage — Moving to 64 GB has freed me from the constant storage management I dealt with on the 32 GB model.
- →Camera — This is the standout feature. The dual-camera setup provides transformative photography improvements compared to the single lens on the 6s.
Apple deserves credit for making the transfer process nearly seamless. I only had to re-enter login credentials for a few apps.
The iPhone 11 feels like Apple hit the sweet spot with this model, just as they did with the 6s four years ago. The 6s was a reliable device with its classic design, while the 11 excels in speed and modern features. Having spent four years with my 6s, I look forward to similar longevity with the 11—perhaps I'll be eyeing the iPhone 15 when it's finally time to upgrade again.
