I recently took advantage of a 50% off sale at my local Adidas store and picked up two items: a track jacket in red/black stripes and a navy/white stripe windbreaker. I'm quite pleased with both of them!

What I Got

Product Reviews

Track Jacket
  • Style — Red/black stripes
  • Use — Great for indoor wear, but not very warm outdoors. The material tends to let the breeze through, making it less effective for cooler weather.
Windbreaker
  • Style — Navy/white stripes
  • Use — Phenomenal! It's very lightweight, keeps me warm outdoors, and is water-resistant. This piece has quickly become a favorite for its practicality.

Item Price
Track Jacket $20
Windbreaker $25
Total ~$45

While I would have preferred the track jacket in a classic red/white stripe and the windbreaker in royal blue, I'm still satisfied with the current choices and expect to enjoy them for many years.

Looking Ahead

2019 Clothing Goals

This purchase fulfills about half of my clothing needs for 2019. I plan to pick up a pair of Adidas track pants later this year, likely in the 3rd Quarter, along with some replacement t-shirts to complete my clothing replenishments.

Wish List

Ideal Jacket Concept

If I could take the material of the windbreaker and use it in the style of a track jacket, that would be my near-perfect Adidas jacket! Essentially, I want a windbreaker without a hoodie, and I'm sure such a style exists—I just need to do some research to find it.

Style Tip
If you're considering a red Adidas piece, I'd recommend opting for the white stripes instead of black. The red and black combination tends to clash, while red and white create a more classic and appealing look.

2 pieces, ~$45 total — about half of the 2019 clothing goals checked off.

Sony MDR-ZX100 vs ZX-110 vs ZX-310 Series Headphones

Gear Review Budget Audio Face-off: Sony ZX Series Review Comparing the ZX-100, ZX-110, and ZX-310 for your everyday carry ~3 Models ~$10–$20 Price 2.5+ Years Longevity Table of Contents ① Build Quality ② Cost Comparison ③ Sound Quality ④ Overall Value ⑤ Upgrade Path Section I Build Quality The Sony ZX series headphones primarily feature a durable plastic construction. My ZX-100 has lasted over 2½ years, enduring countless tosses into my backpack and car without any issues. However, the lower-end ZX-100 and ZX-110 models have a significant downside: poor-quality earpads.   The Earpad Problem Over time, the earpads on the ZX-100 and ZX-110 disintegrate, leaving vinyl flakes that stick to your hair and ears. The ZX-310 comes with upgraded earpads that don't suffer from this problem — a clear win in the build department. Tip: If your earpads start to flake, it is a sign of material degradation; consider replacing the cushions or upgrading to a model with more durable synthetic lea...

While features are always a plus, my main priority is size. Here's how some of the models I've tried stack up. 5600 Series For overall size, the 5600 series stands out as a favorite due to its compact, comfortable form. It's slim, lightweight, and fits well on my wrist without being too bulky. Although the 6900 series provides the benefit of a well-placed front illumination button, the 5600 remains the ideal size for everyday wear.   Section II Best Compromise: G900...
